IRC is a form of internet chat site where multiple people can gather to have a live chat. It was created in late August 1988 by Jarkko Oikarinen. It has channels and commands to help out people who visit the site. A channel is the basic means of communicationin an established IRC. A command is a signal that a user uses to tell the server what it wants it to do.

To Southland Media this is a chatline that I would not recommend your company to use. This is due to the fact that IRC is open to any number of servers who want to join. An incomplacent server can join and can cause major issues to the network, wheter it being intentional or not. This is why I would not recomment it to your company.
